Morpeth Lions Public events coming soon

Each year we plan a number of events for the public to enjoy.

Some of these are funded by Lions for members of the public. 

Others raise funds to enable Lions to do their their work in the community.

MORPETH LIONS CHRISTMAS 2023.

Morpeth Lions had great fun with Santa, his new sleigh and the support team of elves and sleigh mechanics at various local events before Christmas.  You gave generously and enabled us to buy gifts for many local disadvantaged children.  Thank you so much to Winn Electrical Services of Morpeth for your sponsorship and support.

SEPTEMBER 2023 BOOK SALE 

Our September book sale in Morpeth Town Hall was a huge success and we raised over £4000 for our community causes.  Thank you to Bella Boo’s who covered our costs of the event.

Morpeth Lions support Ashington Town Council at  Ashington Christmas Light Switch On 2022

When Santa visited Ashington Christmas Lights Switch On,  Morpeth Lions made sure that he was well taken care of.  The Lions also presented donation cheques at the event to Stobhill Link and Ashington Community Hub to support their work.

Chinese Evening at Mulan Chinese Restaurant 2022

This sell-out event raised a considerable sum of money for Lion President Peter Crook’s chosen charity – the Wansbeck Valley Foodbank.  Cheques were presented to Linda Fugil of the Foodbank, and also to the Friends of St Georges Church to assist their work in helping Ukranian people in the area to lean English.

Morpeth Lions Book Sale

Another successful book sale gave people a chance to pick up some bargain reads while raising money to support our work in the local community.

Morpeth Lions raise money for the Ukraine Appeal

Morpeth Lions held two street collections for the people of Ukraine.

We also received donations from other sources, and were able to make a good donation thanks to the generosity of residents and visitors.

This money was directed straight to where it was needed using links to our friends in Lions Clubs International Foundation.

Morpeth Lions Fishing competition at Fontburn Reservoir

Following two years of lockdown, Fontburn Reservoir and surrounding area was badly affected in 2021 by Storm Arwen.

Unfortunately there is uncertainty about how or if the facilities will  be restored – watch this space for more information.

This popular and enjoyable event raised a huge sum for Cleaswell Hill School.
